Officials of Globacom Premier League side, Rangers International, have revealed that Warri Wolves have turned down their N15m transfer fee payment for the unsettled Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Mba.
The Nigeria Football Federation had mediated in the transfer feud between the two clubs which led to them agreeing on a transfer fee of N15 with a proviso that Warri Wolves will pocket 60% of the player’s international transfer.
But there is now a new twist when Rangers claimed that their draft for the sum of N15m for the player’s transfer fee had been rejected by the oil rich city side.
“As I speak with you, the draft is still with us,” Foster Chime, Director of Media for the Enugu Rangers said.
The media director added, “They first claimed that we should first settle the transfer fee of goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim before that of Mba. They also claimed that we did not pay within the stipulated time and that as a result, the ownership of Sunday Mba has reverted back to them.”
