A 23-year-old unemployed lady, Elizaberth Aso, was Monday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing phones and wrist watches worth N500,000.
Aso who was docked before Magistrate Abimbola Komolafe, is facing a count charge of stealing preferred against her by the police.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Iranus Nnamonu, told the court that the defendant, committed the alleged offenece on May, 3, 2013, at about 7:30pm, at 11, Oladosu Street, off Toyin Street in Ikeja area of Lagos.
He said that Aso, stole, a Bold six, Black Berry, a Bold two Black, one Nokia Xpress music and one Nokia Lunia phone, one Rolex and one Casio Racing Wrist watch, all worth the sum of N500,000.
The prosecutor said that the properties that was stolen, are properties of one Adebola Adeniyi and Folarin Olufemi.
According to the prosecutor, the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 285 (1) of the criminal laws No 11 Vol 44, law of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2011.
However, when the charge was read to the defendant, she pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge against her and magistrate Komolafe, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000, with two responsible sureties in like sum.
