Nigerians whose SIM cards were deactivated by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) now have the opportunity to use them as the telecoms regulator has approved the registration of all deactivated SIM cards.
NCC took the decision following an appeal from the Association of Licensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) and the National Association of Telecoms Subscribers (NATCOMS) for the extension of SIM registration.
It would be recalled that the Nigerian Communications Commission had directed telecoms service providers to deactivate all SIM cards that were not registered after June 30 2013.
According to NATCOMS President, Mr. Deolu Ogunbanjo, “the NCC has opened a SIM card registration window for subscribers affected by deactivation /disconnection.
Mr. Ogunbanjo advised all subscribers that had their SIM cards deactivated, to ensure they register their SIM cards.
