NDLEA Seize 66kg Of Drugs In Bayelsa
National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Bayelsa Wing seized an amazing 66.4 Kilograms of narcotics from january till june 2013 and in the means arresting 132 suspects.
Frank Hanachor is the area Commander for the NDLEA and disclossed this while checking on the activities in Yenagoa as events to mark the World International Day Against Illicit Drugs, revealed that the said suspects comprised 106 males and 26 females.
Explaining the 6 months statistics, Hanachor said the stock of drugs comprised of 39 grammes; Psychotropic substances, 366.6 grammes; and cannabis sativa 65.989 kilogrammes.
In addition to the arrests, he said the command also carried out public enlightenment and drug education in schools, as well as general counseling on the dangers of drug addiction and trafficking.
He stressed that the drug menace is a social problem that requires the collaboration of all stakeholders to tackle.
