Job Racketeering: New Immigration Boss Fires Officer For Defrauding Unsuspecting Job Seekers



In its bid to rid the service of corrupt personnel, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has dismissed one of its officers, Andy Oyibi for allegedly defrauding unsuspecting members of the public by providing them with employment in the service.

Newly appointed Comptroller General of Immigration, Mr David Parradang, approved the dismissal of Mr. Oyibi in line with his mission to purge the service of bad eggs.



The Provost Marshal of the service, Assistant Comptroller of Immigration, Mr George Didel, who announced the dismissal of Mr. Oyibi, said the activities of the officer was damaging to the image of the service.

According to the Provost Marshal, Oyibi, who was an Assistant Inspector of Immigration, was alleged to have been involved in selling fake appointment letters to innocent and unsuspecting Nigerians.

“His deeds were exposed when we arrested his accomplice, who told us that the Assistant Inspector was the one who gave him the fake appointment letter”, he said.
