Revealed: A Local Joint Where Top Nollywood Stars Patronise For Food
A local food joint where top Nigeria movie stars visit in their numbers whenever they are in the Nigeria capital, Abuja, has been revealed.
FrontiersNews gathered that the modified "mama put" resturant, known as K. Royal has suddenly become a mecca of sort for hungry Nollywood Stars for those resident in Abuja and those on working or leisure visit to the city.
Investigation revealed that besides being pocket friendly and centrally located, the local food joint also pride itself in local delicacies that are prepared while clients wait for 15 to 20 minutes for their meals/order to be cooked and served fresh and hot.
It was also learnt that due to the proximity of the joint to most night clubs in the city many nollywood practitioners also visit the joint in the night to pick both male and female prostitutes for their evening relaxation.
A popular adage “a trial will convince you” comes true for K-Royal Restaurant located along the ever busy Adetokunbo Ademola crescent in Wuse II, Abuja.
Though it is said to be like any other restaurant in the FCT, yet K-Royal is patronised by the high and middle class in the city especially Nollywood stars.
According to the new manager, Mr. Dele, at least four Nollywood stars patronize the Restaurant every week.
Those known to regularly visit K-Royal include: Kanayo O. Kanayo, Chinedu Ikedieze, Osita Iheme, Bob Manuel Ndukwe, Emem Isong, Jennifer Eliogu, Genevieve Nnaji, Zack Orji, Rita Dominic, Jimi Iyke, Ramsy Noah and Foluke Daramola.
Others include Cossy Ojiakor, Mercy Aigbe, Nse Ikpetum, Monalisa Chindo, Chioma Ude, Chika Ike, Biodun Okeowo, Omotola Ekeinde, Ikem Owoh and Tonto Dikeh amongst other.
Our correspondent also learnt that they don’t just visit K-Royal, a couple of films have also been shot there.
Frontiersnews gathered from a source in the that what stands the restaurant out from others is the quality of their food compared to the quantity of the food itself.
“For health reason, we don’t use microwave. That is why it is Alacata. It is served fresh to customers who patronize us, when you come; it will take between 15-20 minutes to give you your food. When you come, we take your order, take it to the kitchen and the kitchen now prepares it.”
“Early in the morning we go to bush market to buy our foodstuffs every day. Before 11am in the morning everything is ready in the kitchen and if there is any left over, we don’t give it to our customers again, another fresh one will be prepared the following day.
A lot of media concerns have taken advantage of the patronage of the restaurant to advertise their product and services electronically.
On the wall of the restaurant are some flat screen television set where such adverts on fashion and clothing including undies run periodically.
