The village head of Yakawada community in Giwa Local government Area of Kaduna State, Mr. Rilwanu Samai'ila, has been rendered homeless as irate youths, on Thursday, burnt his guest house and vehicles.
Reports say the incident was caused by an alleged discovery of the mutilated corpse of a 10-year-old girl close to Sama’ila’s guest house.
The source added that youths took to the streets in protest as it was the third killing in the area this year.
When contacted, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Adenaike, said the situation had been brought under control by the policemen deployed to the area.
“We have received the report and my men were mobilised to the scene to beef up security,” he said. “We are on top of the situation now. All the same, I will get back to you later when I get more details.”
