Child Trafficking Scandal Hits Nigeria Leading Pentecostal Church
...As Deaconesses in Kubwa Church Buy Babies From Port Harcourt
Wonders they say shall never end, even in the House of God, or how else can one describe a situation where high ranking members of a popular Pentecostal Church in Kubwa, Abuja, engage in buying babies just to prove to members that they can still give birth to children.
FrontiersNews was reliably informed that the deaconesses who are four in number would pretend to be pregnant through the help of injection to boost their hormones; and after Nine months would meet their agent in Port-Harcourt where they buy any baby of their choice and present it to their husbands as the child they gave birth to.
The source said the leader of the syndicate had in 2010, claimed to have given birth to a baby girl after 51 years of age without a child. Her case was even used as a reference point in the Church branches worldwide by the President of the church as a testimony that "God is Here".
FrontiersNews also learnt that the said deaconess has been telling whoever that cares to listen that God has already shown her in a dream the sex of her next child that she would give birth to, “unknown to people that it is a lie.”
“They have a set of girls in Port Harcourt that they pay money to depending on what you want. A female child is N800,000, Male is N950,000,while Twin babies goes for N1.5million.It can be higher if the twins are not the same sex.”
Their nefarious activities became known following an attempt to incorporate another deaconess who had been searching for the ‘fruit of the womb’ into their clique.
According to the source, who is also a worker in the church, the woman they told refused to cooperate with them because she was not given the Port Harcourt agent’s number.
The source narrated further that, ”she was asked to take a flight to Port Harcourt and the agent would come and meet her. They insisted that they will not give her the phone number of the agent. All she needed to do was to take a flight to Port Harcourt and somebody would wait for her at the airport.
The Senior Pastor of the church, had called a member of the group to inquire about her welfare, but unfortunately she thought the woman who refused to cooperate had told the Pastor what had happened between.
As a result, the gang leader choose to engage the pastor in a quarrel on the phone.
In her words: “What is the big deal about it. After all, I told Deaconess (name withheld) and she was in support of it that there was nothing wrong with it.”
A meeting by the Senior Pastor to get to the bottom of the issue, failed as the Deaconess whom the group wanted to incorporate said “ why are you bringing me into this, you came to me and i said I was not going to partake , so why are you still carrying my name to the Pastor. Why don’t you carry your cross on your own.”
The source further said that there were two other members of the group that are heavily pregnant, “waiting to put to bed”.
Another member who did not want his name in print, confided in FrontiersNews that the leadership of the church is trying to manage the situation, so that it does not pollute the heart of members. They have now known that “a lot of things are going on.”
He described the situation as worrisome. But when our reporter injected that it is due to poverty, the church member retorted that if it were poverty, how come they don’t do it once and stop.
He attributed the increasing cases of young girls selling babies as one of the signs of the end time.
“If it where poverty for instance, how come when they make the first money, they still go ahead to do the second one.
“Somebody makes N500,000 which is enough to start a moderate business, you are still into it, you will discover that it is not just poverty, it is just corruption of the conscience,” he said.
